Create in Clay! – A Spring Break Program for Kids (morning session)
Instructor: Lara Fahnlander
Get out your messy clothes and come join us for a week of playing with clay! You will learn how to use a pottery wheel and get plenty of practice. We’ll also do fun hand-building projects like pinch pots, slab construction, coil pots and hidden treasure containers. We will even fire some of your favorite pieces, so they will last for years to come. Whether you need a new cereal bowl or a place to hide your life savings, you can make it on Spring Break!
Please note: Our Spring Break programs are designed for students to mix and match morning and afternoon sessions. Morning sessions (FolkSkiDerby and Create in Clay) will run from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Afternoon sessions (FolkSkiDerby, Create in Clay, and Turning Cardboard into Motion) will run from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. During the lunch hour, students are welcome to bring a lunch and stay at The Folk School. The lunch hour will be supervised, but there will not be planned activities other than time spent playing outdoors.
Students should bring:
- lunch if they plan to stay for the lunch hour,
- snacks to get them through a busy day (if needed),
- a water bottle, and,
- warm clothes (as we will be playing outside during the lunch hour).
