Sustainable Singing For Life – (4 session course for all ages)
Instructor: Ryan Bowers
Our voice is the one instrument we all possess, but knowing how to “play” this instrument is not automatic. We carry it with us everywhere we go, and it can be affected by our health, our environment, and our state of mind. Unlike some other instruments, singing (or even speaking) incorrectly can actually damage your voice.
Many people think that those who sing well are just lucky to have been born good singers, but the truth is they worked hard to learn how to use their instrument, just like a guitar player or a piano player. Luckily, you can learn too! Anyone can learn to get the most out of the instrument they have, and learn how to sing in a way that will be sustainable for a lifetime.
Across four classes (with days between for practicing), students will explore proper breath support, warm-ups, pronunciation, enunciation, vocal health, how to create a pleasing tone, and how to utilize their full vocal range.
