Fairbanks Fiber Festival Class

Location: Pioneer Park - Civic Center - Blue Room

Demonstration and discussion of washing wool in different ways for preparation and spinning. Discuss which wools can possibly be spun raw (in the grease) and which wools must be washed for best results. Quick demo of several preparation methods, including carding, flicking and combing. Demo of how to spin the variously prepared fibers. We will practice several preparation techniques, and try spinning them if time allows.

Maximum number of students: 15

Age range: adults

Cost: $60

Prerequisites: Participants must know how to spin.
