Partners

Our partners are organizations with which we share a mutually beneficial relationship. We share ideas, collaborate on programs and help promote one another.

Northwoods Book Arts GuildNORTHWOODS BOOK ARTS GUILD
Founded in 2011, Northwoods Book Arts Guild is a growing community of people dedicated to learning about and creating artist books. The Guild promotes all aspects of book arts through education, participation in exhibitions, and community outreach. Guild members sponsor a continually changing display of artist books on the main floor of UAF’s Rasmuson Library. In June 2014 BOOKS AS ART: Structure, Image, Text, their first major exhibition, will take place in the Bear Gallery of the Fairbanks Arts Association. Their outreach project serves the Literacy Council of Alaska by providing book repair services to the Forget-Me-Not Bookstore. Guild meetings are open to the community, often include hands-on activities, and take place bimonthly. Learn more and become involved: www.nwbookarts.org

ALASKA FOLK SCHOOL
Alaska Folk School is located in Talkeetna and is a program of the Northern Susitna Institute. Hands-on instruction in creative and practical arts can often change people’s lives. This belief provides the spark for the Alaska Folk School. Alaska Folk School offers a variety of courses taught by “folks” from near and far. Connections are made through the sharing of skills, experiences, ideas and passions. Once these seeds are planted there’s no choice but to grow!
