Woodworking for Young Folks: An Exploration of Wood, Tools and Techniques
The goal of this program, in addition to having fun making cool stuff, is to begin developing proficiency in a wide range of woodworking tools and techniques (in some cases expanding on what we already know). This kit of skills is a stepping stone to further explorations into craft of all kinds.
As is the case with building almost anything; design, aesthetics, math and physics play a role. The nature of projects we undertake are tailored to the evolving skill levels and interests of the students. It may be necessary for students to work on their projects outside of class time. Arrangements will be made for use of the school shop under staff supervision.
This program is divided into two separate age groups: Group I – 12 to 15 years of age and Group II – 8 to 11 years of age.
Please see the class calendar for current sessions and registration information.
